We want to rethink how to create exhibits.

We want to put “experiment” in the word “exhibit.” We experiment different ways to communicate science in our exhibits. Traveling exhibits offer a wonderful place to test our hypotheses. Therefore, our exhibits become a laboratory of exhibition design.

We want to introduce the vernacular of contemporary architecture to science museum community. The world of architecture is quite exciting right now, but their voice has primary been heard in cultural museums. We want to change that.

Art. Traditionally art in science museums has been used to illustrate science, whether in two or three dimensions. Recently, places such as the Exploratorium in San Francisco has commissioned artists to create works inspired by the natural world. Their efforts have produced dynamic results.

But we want to employ artists in a different way. Artists communicate on a human, intuitive level that speaks in a sublime way. Therefore we want artists to communicate science. Yes, be inspired and illustrate, but our direction to the artists we commission is that they should communicate science.

Finally, we want to build with green materials. So that the very materials we use to build our exhibits speak with, not against, the principles set forth on the exhibit panels. We must do our small part to conserve the natural world.
